JERRY WILLIAMS - SINGLE REVIEW

Jerry Williams - Cold Beer
Jerry Williams - Cold Beer

Release Date: 21st August 2015

For a variety of reasons, I haven't had a drop of alcohol since May and, worryingly, I'm starting to get twitchy at the mere mention of the substance. So, Portsmouth songstress Jerry Williams' new single 'Cold Beer' has brought me out in full on convulsions before I've even pressed play. The song itself is a poppy, sugary sweet tune with a tight guitar melody and Williams' voice is like a smooth caramel layer atop the crunchy, Mark Ronson-esque beats. To hear this melody you'd expect to see some moody, edgy Hoxtonite with improbably hair but from the video our heroine appears to be a down-to-earth, girl-next-door type with a sense of humour and a friend with some serious grooming issues. This is one of those songs that could hit big if it's played enough during a few hot summer days but I suspect there's more to come from this lady so pour yourself a cold one enjoy this one while it lasts.
