The new Duke of Jazz, Gregory
Porter, is hitting the UK with a big ol' tour next year but to keep our
whistles whet there's a little Claptone remix of the fantastic 'Liquid Spirit' floating
around for us. For those that don't know this modern classic already, the piano
melody and Porter's soulful voice evoke everything that is good and great about
Jazz, Soul, Motown and Funk without the need for any help. What this Claptone
remix does is give the beat and rhythm a little joie de vivre and suddenly
you've got a dance floor filler with deep soul that should please purists and
newcomers alike. Somewhere in the realms of Moby's 'Play' material, Fatboy Slim
and Parov Stellar with some Jacknife Lee thrown in for good measure is where
this track exists in all its glory. Love the style, love the voice, love the
