Here's an intriguing prospect.
Hayes & Y seem to be named after part of the name of a non-league football
club (Hayes & Yeading) despite hailing from Sofia in Bulgaria and releasing
a single called 'Dancefloor'. Well, I'm always ready to hear something a little
different. This new single from the Bulgarian quartet starts with a sleazy,
swaggering mood which demands that the video is in slow motion and features
every band member wearing sunglasses before slowly removing them. There is an
element of the Killers about the slickness of this indie-pop but there is
something slightly more aggressive about the sex appeal going on here as the
guitars persist like a guy drunkenly chatting up a bored businesswoman propping
up the bar. Strangely, this song gives me the creeps and arouses the senses at
the same time which is pretty impressive for non-league following indie
rockers, don't you think?
