As a relatively new dad in this
world this song and the accompanying video strike one hell of a chord. The
acoustically strummed melody of new Winter single 'Father Time' is lavishly
adorned by some gorgeous vocal harmonies and the kind of sparse by powerful
percussion that Mumford & Sons employed with such success on their first
two albums. The duo, who split their time between Bristol and Cambridge, manage
to squeeze power, emotion, subtlety and pure melodies in to this simple song
and if there are any advertising agencies out there looking for a song to put a
lump in the throat of a nation in the run up to father's day this year then
look no further. A beautiful song that makes me want to call my dad.....but I
won't, he hates talking on the phone so I'm doing him a favour really and I'll
only get caught in a conversation with my mum.........
