This is something of an
underground super-group made of members of We Three And The Death Rattle, Death
Of London and Codex Leicester who all combine to form an indie version of the
Travelling Wilburys. This single offering, 'Old Cool Red', has a pleasingly
steady chug about it that reminds me of Grandaddy, Cake, Weezer or Eels but
with a more British feel in the guitar melodies. The buzz and twang of the six
string players is mighty fine as the drums pat and shuffle along in the
background and the vocals give an air of 'whatever' to proceedings. One of the
huge benefits of the internet is that bands can collaborate and release music
without too much red tape which leaves us to revel in the glories of songs like
'Old Cool Red'. Everyone's a winner.
