BEATY HEART - SINGLE REVIEW

Beaty Heart - Kanute's Comin' Round' (Nusic Sounds)
Beaty Heart - Kanute's Comin' Round

Release Date: 3rd March 2014

Well this is bonkers. Great bonkers, don't get me wrong, but bonkers all the same. Beaty Heart are a trio of gentleman who either fans of the footballer Freddie Kanute or royal mythology - or both, the two aren't mutually exclusive. 'Kanute's Comin' Round' (one hell of a party either way) starts off like the sountrack disc in the Crocodile Dundee box set before descending in to the kind of chaos that you would have thought could only be created by locking Hot Chip, LCD Soundsystem, Gilbert, Vampire Weekend and Young Knives in a recording studio together with nothing but Maltesers and tape recorder. There is almost too much music here but the guys manage to keep proceedings just the right side of madness (I'll leave it up to you which side that is) and firmly in fun territory. There's an album of this stuff coming soon which I will need to take some serious time out to listen to - put this stuff on in the car without realising and you'll be flying off a bridge before you can say "Beaty Heart made me do it"!
