Long term readers of this blog will remember my brief love affairs with bands like NARCS, Allusondrugs and Allusinlove. The latter of these three has now morphed into Flesh Planet so it looks like I'm going back to the ex again... 'Evelyn' is the debut single from this new arrangement and it's an instant blast in the face of distorted guitars before settling into a dreamy, shoegazy melody with vocals that drift like the words of a paramedic when you're black out drunk in the gutter. The juxtaposition of soft melodies and hard hitting energy is delicious and with a debut EP in the offing there's more to get excited about.
