'Blushing', the new single from the ever-glamorous Luvcat, has a lovely tone to it that caught me off guard to being with. There's a subdued, almost shy vocal delivery that reminds me of early Merseybeat songs but then the chorus goes full 80s American power ballad that would fit into the Breakfast Club or Pretty In Pink. There is still, of course, the trademark luxuriousness in the melodies and production but this song has a little more grit to it than previous releases and I think I like it.
