Cornish soloist Thin Walls (Fin Wilson to his mum) has just released this hand cut 7" single and it is a lo-fi delight. First up, 'Ammunition' is an 8-bit delight with bouncing electro melodies, a pulsatingly processed Joy Division beat and vocals that drift in and out like a fever dream brought on by eating too much sushi. 'Only A While', by contrast, is a more laid-back and spaced out affair with layered vocals, a shuffling beat and ambient guitars creating a sound like Brian Wilson (RIP) producing the Doors with the Aphex Twin nodding on in the corner. I can firmly imagine John Peel spinning these tracks in the wee small hours and that is the highest praise I can give any new talent.
