Well, well, well this is a slice of something a little funky and cool. Oswald Slain (very cool name) have hung a leather jacket on the bass amp and created a dirty but cool bass line and the rest is, well, funky. 'UGLY' is a lounge bar anthem full of Marc Bolan's effortless cool, drums that go straight to your hips and a guitar sound that puts me in mind of the Dandy Warhols. Throw in some Black Keys, a smidge of Father John Misty and a twist of Jon Spencer Blues Explosion and you're a) in the right ball park and b) looking at one hell of a party.
