A protest song about second home owners is one of the top five Cornish things I wanted from 2024 so I'm glad to see it arrive in my inbox before March is even over. Mataraybryn opens 'No Economy' with the line "I want to go home but there's no economy" and then a pulsating rhythm section joins in to give this one the feel of LCD Soundsystem collaborating with the Feeling for what is an actual banger. Musically, lyrically and ethically this is the standout song of 2024 so far and we all need to stream, buy and share this song so that Mataraybryn can afford to come home to Kernow.
