Irish artist Lyra sounds more like she's been hanging out at the beach bar with Rihanna than her local in Cork but regardless of where it comes from, she has one hell of a voice. 'Drink Me Up' sways and swaggers with a darkly seductive energy striding in to the club on the back of a low down bass line. The chorus does that uplifting thing which would/should be accompanied by a blast of pyrotechnics in the video and the live show but the key take away here is that Lyra has an incredibly powerful pop vocal and, based on this release, the songs to back it up.
