PINDHAR are duo from Milan who recorded their forthcoming album in Bristol which is surely one of the more unusual relocations for recording purposes but it seems to have borne sweet fruit. The single 'Humans' is a moody, arty and brooding track and, yes, I'm going to make the Portishead comparison but that is by no means the whole story. The drums crack and the guitars have a gorgeously 80s depth to them, creating a sound that is both cinematic and bleak but never boring. Then you have the switch between fragile singing and dead-eyed spoken word which given the whole experience a sense of style as well as the substance that is there all along.
