INFECTED SENSES - EP REVIEW

Infected Senses - Save The Humans EP

Release Date: Out Now

If you haven't had the pleasure of discovering the uniquely unhinged talents of Devon based DJ Infected Senses then you have a treat ahead of you and, even if you're well acquainted, this new EP will surely tickle your pickle. The 'Save The Humans' EP kicks off with 'Skinny Legend (redux)' and sees Rose Mulet join in on sampled vocal duties with a Marie Davidson sound atop a Gorillaz inspired beat and swirling electro melodies. Title track 'Save The Humans' has a sketchy beat and bass line combo plays out under the repeated line "homo sapiens, let 'em die, save the humans" giving this a Chemical Brothers vibe.

The party continues with 'We Do Wednesdays' in full on NYC late night mode before 'So What feat. Steely Vibe' go all Christine & the Queens on us with swirling synth sounds and a mechanical yet entirely erotic beat. The throbbing intro to 'Remain Indoors (redux)' gives way to zapping and clunking which makes this feel like an AI generated fever dream fed directly in to your brain in place of your memories of an idyllic COVID lock down. This collection climaxes with 'Live2Die (redux)', a real tour of 80s clubs in the US with pumping synth melodies, brash beats and Giorgio Moroder's DNA in the DJ booth. There's lot's more Infected Senses fun to discover so if you like the sound of all this then take a deep dive - just don't send me your therapy bills.
