Hot Mud - Where The Bad Kids Go

First things first, Hot Mud is a brilliant name and leaves you open to taking your music in any direction. Secondly, 'Where The Bad Kids Go' is a great song title full of child-like fairy tale energy mixed with Stranger Things meets Lost Boys danger and intrigue. Now, on to the music - this tack opens with a Jake Bugg-esque strum before a trashy, Stooges guitar sound kicks in and then a lo-fi take on the Beatles melodies settles in. There are elements of Redd Kross, Hot Hot Heat and the Spencer Davies Group but this track has it's very own personality that I can't help but fall in love with. There is more to come in 2024 from this one-man-band but this is a brilliantly intriguing and unique starter for ten.
