A double treat from the superb Hafdis Huld as the Icelandic singer-songwriter prepares us for a new album this year. First up, 'Hindsight' is a light and hopeful acoustic dance that, honestly, is exactly the song I needed to hear today. As the plucked notes sway and lilt, urged on by the hand clapped rhythm, Huld's impish vocal soothes your troubled mind and allows you to breathe gently for the first time in weeks. 'Shade Of Blue' is more of a woozy, lo-fi pop affair but those gorgeous vocals are still there and the synth melody transports you to a European city in the 70s when the world was changing all around. Hafdis Huld really is a singular talent and if you haven't immersed yourself in her music yet then now might just be the time.
