Maple Ward feat. Josh Moseley - Artefacts

This is the second release from Maple Ward that I've had the pleasure to review and this time she's brought Josh Moseley along for the ride. 'Artefacts' pairs the duo's vocals up perfectly for a rich and warm tone that glides effortlessly across the top of deftly and delicately plucked acoustic guitar strings so create a tender, almost fragile, song. The slow, ponderous thud of the beat and Ward's ethereally breathy vocal makes this almost funereal in its tone but the aforementioned warmth of the vocal harmonies save this from feeling too bleak or dark. It's a fine line to walk but Maple Ward does it brilliantly.
