There's a dark and murky lo-fi quality to this track that I absolutely adore so I hope you'll join me in checking Montreal's La Force and new single XO Skeleton. "God forbid you should die, the life insurance broker said to me" is the opening line sung out reluctantly over a budget-beat and Joy Division guitars and you're drawn in to her world immediately. The vocals are like a lullaby for someone that you know will never wake up and the guitars swim about you as though the anesthetic is taking hold. It's a trip but a wonderful one.
