If, like me, you're missing the football season during the 'summer' then the video for the new Cherym single might just give you the fix you need. 'Taking Up Sports' is a love song from the athletically disinclined who get involved in sporting endeavors just to get close to the one you love and it's all set to an infectiously hooky pop-punk melody, natch. The melodies, however, are only half the storm as Cherym always come armed with a punchy rhythm section and a wry sense of humour which comes out in the middle-eight as the standard football chant of "Ole ole ole" takes on a more dramatic and intense meaning. Altogether now, "Eat my goal!".
