WILLIAM THE CONQUEROR - SINGLE REVIEW

William The Conqueror - The Bruises (Chrysalis
Records)

Release Date: Out Now

Things are hotting up in the run up to the new William the Conqueror album with tour dates everywhere you look and new single 'The Bruises' hitting the virtual shelves. An Americana tinged acoustic strum broods away in the background and those trademark vocals (part croon and part folky-blues mumble) melt the coldest of hearts listening in. The sadness and raw emotion of this track oozes from every pore but the line "Breathing had become so bitterly painful, she called in the angels" is the kind of lyric that can stop you in your tracks and that's the kind of stunning (in every sense) experience you can expect from William the Conqueror.
