'Overgrown' is the debut release from Norwich based singer-songwriter and it is a startlingly pure and brilliant piece of music from anyone at any stage of their career. There are Joni Mitchell vibes in the vocals, Laura Marling in the guitar picking and a strong sense of Beth Orton throughout which makes for an utterly gorgeous experience. When the bass and drums join in, the song is elevated beyond simply being a folk melody to something with a little more urgency but always controlled and always with a contrasting free spirit. There's more to come but this is a mighty fine start.
