'Luna' is the debut single from Glaswegian outfit Empty Machines and it shimmers in to life with cinematic and dramatic energy. A futuristic bass drone and breathy vocals create a sound that is part Frankie Goes To Hollywood and part Goldfrapp if they were collaborating on the soundtrack for the next remake of Bladerunner. The beat is thunderously relentless and the 80s inspired synths layer up powerfully to create a huge wall of sound. A bold and purposeful debut, then, and one that promises more.
