'I Wanna Work In A Supermarket' is the kind of song that could only come from the dry, cutting wit of British songwriters and so it's lucky that Cambridge quartet Diamond Country Dance Club but that wit to good use. A gentle, almost distracted riff soon switches up in to something altogether more agitated with the energy of the Undertones from the get go. Mix in elements of the Fall, Young Knives, Maximo Park, Franz Ferdinand and the Kaiser Chiefs and you're getting somewhere close to this but DCDC have their own special energy that is utterly infectious. This is the kind of song from the kind of band that will demand fanaticism so be prepared before you give it a listen - there's no turning back.
