Ollie Dixon - Islands

Devon singer-songwriter Ollie Dixon is laying down a statement of intent for 2022 with his new single 'Islands' and it is a statement worth listening to. Along with a superbly atmospheric video, this new release gives a window in to the ambient-folk vibe that Dixon is moving in to. This pits him firmly against county compadres Jamie Yost and Drakes Island but it is understandable to see this style emerging when you consider the dramatic and sweeping landscape within which Dixon is creating. Smooth, undulating melodies move alongside those gentle vocals like the horses that run free across Dartmoor. Beautiful and elemental stuff.
