FLOWVERS - SINGLE REVIEW

FLOWVERS - Far Away (Fossil Boy Records)

Release Date: Out Now

There's a strange and wonderful energy to this track from Portsmouth quartet FLOWVERS. The opening notes of 'Far Away' sound like an outtake from a U2 track circa 'The Unforgettable Fire' but the song soon morphs in to something pitched between Catfish and Bottlemen's anthemic indie rock and Alt-J's angular indie style. FLOWVERS wouldn't be out of place as a support act for the likes of Maximo Park or the View but, equally, you can see them headlining big venues in their own right in the not too distant future. Ambitious, creative, layered and sweeping indie that packs a punch? Yes please.
