I'm always comforted when I get a new track from the Golden Dregs, it's like getting a postcard from an uncle who lives in a remote part of the world who you're never quite sure is still alive. 'John' is the latest missive and, as always, it is full of story telling unfolding in between the gentle indie melodies and trade mark barritone vocals. This the story of a long lost childhood friend told in the way only Benjamin Woods; "seldom do I think about him now, but there's no way I'll forget him". A beautiful tribute indeed.
