There is something both contemporary
about the new release from LA duo Chloe X Halle. ‘Do It’ has the kind of cool
melodies you’d get from Rihanna, Beyonce and Kelis with sparse beats and
drifting notes snaking seductively in. Then you have the pair’s delicious vocal
harmonies which take you back to the 90s and the work of Janet Jackson or En Vogue
which is something I’m always to have in my ears. It’s a devastating
combination and when you throw in a video with exceptionally high production
values then you’re on to a winner for sure.
