First things first, can we please
just take a moment to celebrate the most piercing eyes I’ve seen in a press
shot? Well done. Now, Samuel Jack is more than a pair of eyes and he’s brought
out a single in ‘Gonna Be Alright’ that needs to be played on every radio
station on hourly rotation at the moment. This is an infectious soul-pop anthem
of coming through adversity that lifts the spirits, moves the feet and gives
you a sense of being able to take anything throws at you – which is quite a lot
at the moment, right? Slathered organs, a punchy rhythm section, excellent pop
vocals and a cracking horn section all combine to make the kind of song that should
be a) available on the NHS and b) soundtracking a slow motion montage of NHS
heroes holding their shit together after another long shift keeping us all
alive. This is a fantastic song and this is exactly the time to listen to it. I
dedicate this to anyone struggling physically, mentally or emotionally right
now. Thank you, Samuel Jack.
