Beach Riot have been picked up by the equally epic Alcopop! Records label which
is like your sister getting together with your best friend, so we all have to pull
together to make sure this works out, OK? The first offspring of this
relationship, your niece or nephew, is new single ‘Tune In, Drop Out’ and it’s
hyperactive as fuck – I blame the parents. Punchy, wide eyed guitars are egged
on by drums that won’t quit and a bassline that only wants to put slugs down
your pants. With a pleasingly cross-Atlantic sound and energy coupled with a
slick sound that stays just the right sound of over-produced, Beach Riot have
yet again struck gold so get out and catch them on their forthcoming tour – it’s
going to be ace.
