50 YEAR STORM – SINGLE REVIEW

50 Year Storm – Sweet Lou
50 Year Storm - Sweet Lou

Release Date: Out Now

I’m developing a bit of a thing for trio 50 Year Storm and the obsession is largely based on the fact that don’t sound like anyone else on the scene at the moment. The Newquay trio’s new single ‘Sweet Lou’ is the perfect jumping off point if you’re new to the band as they blend dirty Southern rock’n’roll (including references to Louisiana and whiskey) with the kind of organs that Dracula would riff out after a long night of sucking blood and being immortal but alone. Then comes a break down where the drumming of Emma Limn and the kind of ending that makes you want to ride off into the sunset on a horse or a motorbike. I’ve only got a Ford Fiesta but I’m still up for giving it a go.
