XAMVOLO – SINGLE REVIEW

XamVolo – In Love and War
XamVolo - In Love And War

Release Date: Out Now

I’ve been a big fan of XamVolo for a while now and one of the reasons is that every release takes on a new energy, a new direction and brings something fresh to the table. ‘In Love and War’ is no exception to this rule as the new single bounces sexily along atop a chunky bassline with XamVolo’s voice skipping effortlessly over each note. When the chorus arrives we get some skittish and wonky synth blasts to compliment the subtle instrumentation but it’s still a relatively sparse arrangement for such a funky track. I’ve compared XamVolo to Prince in the past but this new slice sounds more like something Janelle Monae might be jamming to, whichever planet she’s on right now. A serious talent and at only 24 with a Decca deal under his belt, XamVolo is a real force for the future of UK music.
