HAUNT THE WOODS – SINGLE REVIEW

Haunt the Woods – Amethyst
Haunt the Woods - Amethyst

Release Date: Out Now

You know that thing when two of your friends from different worlds meet and hit it off? Like on a stag do or something? Yeah, well that’s what’s happened when superb Cornish collective Haunt the Woods teamed up with the excellent Wilful Publicity and they’re still drinking at the back of the pub….somewhere. Anyway, the quartet’s new single ‘Amethyst’ is a moody road-trip of a song that hangs loosely around Fleetwood Mac meets Foals ambient guitars and a tight little rhythm section that doesn’t pull any punches. The vocals of Jonathan Stafford are assured, gravelly and, well, pretty sexy but when the chorus hits and the rest of the boys join in with harmonies this just soars to another level. If you’re looking to fill that Maccabees shaped hole in your life with something similar but slightly more windswept and rootsy then look no further than Haunt the Woods.

Live Dates:

2nd August – Calstock Bike Show, Calstock
18th August – St Fimbarrus Church, Fowey
10th September – The Old Blue Last, London
