SADGIRL – SINGLE REVIEW

SadGirl – Chlorine
SadGirl - Chlorine

Release Date: Out Now

On the evidence of this release, LA trio SadGirl are not particularly sad and judging by the press shot, none of them are girls (although you can never be too sure these days). Nevertheless, ‘Chlorine’ is an oddly engaging little ditty that starts with a basic piano riff followed by some smooth crooning and then there’s the chorus. Some 50s inspired horns and a scratchy guitar rhythm makes for an infectious and disarming listen that stops you dead in your tracks. This reminds me of the first time I heard the Zutons or the Thrills and those were both great experiences so I’m sticking with that emotion.

Live Dates:

9th May – Salvage Station, Asheville w/Chicano Batman
18th May – Club Dada, Dallas
24th May – The Holland Project, Reno
26th May – Slim’s, San Francisco
