Based on the title and the
opening few bars of this new release from High Wycombe indie-rockers Only Sun
you would be forgiven for thinking this was the theme of a new cop show (High
Wycombe Vice, anyone?). But no, ‘Vice’ is actually just a hugely infectious
indie-rock track that grabs you from the start and doesn’t let you go, not
matter how much you might beg. On the one hand, this takes influences from the
likes of Young Knives, Dutch Uncles and Apples but Only Sun don’t stop there as
the other hand is full of the kind of steroids that make the Killers and
Kasabian the stadium filling indie behemoths we know them to be. All this and
it is accompanied by one of my favourite videos of the year thus far so this
five-piece are on to a winner in my book (although it is worth pitching this to
a Channel 5 producer for a cop show).
