R E L – SINGLE REVIEW

R E L – Nanagrams
R E L - Nanagrams

Release Date: Out Now

You could be forgiven for thinking, as I did, that ‘Nanagrams’ was a new game where you had to decipher the jumbled-up names of old ladies. But no, ‘Nanagrams’ is actually the title of the new single from LA based artist R E L and it has nothing to do with old ladies. With an atmospheric opening, this track soon evolves in to a slick, seductive melody but with a serious juxtaposition to the lyrical content. You see, R E L is talking about eating disorders, body dysmorphia and image issues not only on this track but also on a triple sided album dealing with the healing process. This is seriously accomplished music that has been expertly assembled without losing any of the soul or heart that this subject matter so richly needs and deserves. In terms of sophistication and style, this would sit next to Sia or Kimbra without flinching and the accompanying video is equally as captivating.

Live Dates:

15th January – Madame Siam, Los Angeles w/Aidan Alexander + Van Bobbi
