Doncaster soloist Guest Singer has recently signed to the Heist or Hit label and is releasing new single ‘New Experience’ as a celebration and it is immediately evident why he was snapped up. With the triumphant and uplifting energy of Arcade Fire but with a young Bowie on vocals this track instantly gets the raised eyebrows of equal surprise and appreciation. Then you can layer on the kind of 80s inspired electro-pop melodies of LadyHawke and you’re on to an absolute winner of a track. Most impressive is the deadpan yet stylish vocals of Jake Cope (aka Guest Singer) which, without pictures, would certainly give you the impression that this is a man of, shall we say, more mature years. Wondrous stuff.
