With the 2018 end of year awards
still ringing in my ears, I’m both delighted and amazed to come across new
Plymouth artist George Moir who could be in contention for a number of gongs
come the end of the year. Moir’s new single ‘Blame’ has a real George Ezra
meets Jamie T vibe to it but builds with real charm and the slow creep of
affection like Gideon Conn with a quirk that is impossible to resist. The
melodies bubble and roll with ease and the cleverly animated video is gorgeous
although the singing fish is a little bit unsettling to say the least.
Definitely one to watch, listen to and hold close – we’re going to need creative
people like this in the bleak post-Brexit landscape.
