London outfit Famous are back with
a typically bonkers new single in the shape of ‘Surf’s Up’. Following a short
drum roll we are treated to a nightmarish and utterly dystopian soundtrack to life
featuring twitchy electro notes, skittish high-pitched stabs and the spoken
word ramblings of someone on too much caffeine and too little sleep. If the Joker
had been the frontman of the Fall and Aphex Twin had produced this single as a
cover of a Velcro Hooks track then it still wouldn’t sound as mad as this does
but we all need a little madness now and again, don’t we?
