Release Date: Out Now
Anyone up for a tennis themed retro-pop single from Australia featuring a sad heroine and some creative use of hairdryers in the video? I thought so. Melbourne’s Jess Ribeiro brings us the downbeat ‘Love is the Score of Nothing’ (technically, it’s l’Oeuf as in an egg but everyone says love now so who am I to argue?) and if you can’t nonchalantly shuffle your feet to this uber-cool jangle fest then you’ve lost something from your soul. Taking elements of Tennis, the Long Blondes and the Sundays, Ribeiro plays her role with consummate, sublime, deadpan ease.
