Elgin quintet Edgar Road are so damn Scottish that one of
them wears a kilt with a Saltire sporran. Like I said, dammmn Scottish. That
Scottishness comes through in the music, too, with new single ‘Say It Another
Way’ with the sweeping indie-rock channelling the likes of Deacon Blue and
Texas with the perfectly harmonised vocals adding a sweet edge. Throw in some Prefab
Sprout, a dash of the Beautiful South and some Radio 2 friendly melodies and
you’ve got yourself a well produced slice of fun that lifts the spirits and stirs
the soul. There’s a ruddy bug castle in the video too which you don’t see every
day.
