Sometimes you come across a voice
or a sound that is so unique or show stopping that you can't help but stop
whatever you're doing and give it your full attention. Roxanne de Bastion has
one such voice. The Berlin raised but London living singer-songwriter has a new
single coming out in the form of 'Rerun' that is lush and sparse in equal
measure. De Bastion's beautifully pure voice puts me in mind of Sarah Blackwood
or Sarah Cracknell and this single gives that vocal talent the space to
breathe, soar and snake it's way in to your affections. Augmented beautifully
by subtle piano, smooth strings and sparse beats, de Bastion's voice shines
through like a beacon in the fog making this a darkly perfect pop song.
