MIKEY GEORGESON & THE CIVILISED SCENE - SINGLE REVIEW

Mikey Georgeson & The Civilised Scene - Till It's Over (Popianosz Recorded Words & Sounds Ltd)
Mikey Georgeson & The Civilised Scene

Release Date: 19th June 2014

You can't beat a man in a neat moustache (seriously, it's illegal) and Mr Mikey Georgeson has a beautifully smart bit of face fuzz. Georgeson is also in position of a rich, thick voice in the vein of Neil Hannon or an English Nick Cave which, combined with the moustache, surely means he should be on some sort of register for the sake of the young ladies of Camden Town. 'Till It's Over' has a certain Divine Comedy meets My Life Story charm as the guitars swoon, the drums skip and the horns sway like a summer's evening breeze on the banks of the river Thames. Georgeson is a natural story teller and crooner which is a rarity these days but the added indie swagger and charm really sets this apart from the crowd. Bravo, sir, bravo.
