GRAND PARADE - SINGLE REVIEW

Grand Parade - The Annoyance
Grand Parade - The Annoyance

Release Date: 19th May 2014

There's nothing I like more than a nice, simple three piece and Brighton boys Grand Parade are just that. 'The Annoyance' has a great, grunge influenced, chugging riff that doesn't pull up any trees but definitely gets you rocking and is all based on a groovy little bass line that takes you straight back to the 90s. What sets this apart, though, are the eccentric vocals of frontman and bassist Ross Devlin who puts something of a theatrical performance in to his delivery of the lyrics. There are elements of Pearl Jam and Veruca Salt in the melodies while this gently swaying number makes me want to put on some ripped jeans and a baggy t-shirt before getting involved in a good natured mosh pit. Nothing ground breaking but a great little nostalgia trip and certainly some pleasing riffage.
