Third Girl From The Left - Breathe
Release Date: 23rd October 2026
I always welcome new music from Devon's enigmatic artist Third Girl From The Left and new single 'Breathe' is no exception. Weird, jarring melodies crackle through the speakers only for TGFTL's haunted, whispery vocal to emerge like a mix of Bjork, PJ Harvey and Edith Piaf. There's a Radiohead vibe to this one but the vocals elevate this from wallowing to pained and tortured as the searing guitars cut through you like rusty hacksaw blades on a cold day. Atmospheric doesn't even come close but when a beat kicks in about three quarters of the way through you are released from your barbed wire prison by a clattering but harmonious coda that breaks the tension. Cinematic stuff, to say the least.
