A definite front runner for band name of the year, Takeshi's Cashew deal in analogue recordings inspired by video game music from yesteryear and it's a real trip. The Vienna based ensemble's latest single, 'Sessellift', bounces along on sketchy synth bass notes while the melody is as heroic as it is heraldic with a cheeky bit of flute getting into the mix. I mean, if you listen to this and don't immediately want to spend the weekend playing Gauntlet or Zelda then I'm not sure we can be friends. Nostalgic and a lot of fun but equally excellent music that shouldn't be underestimated.
