M(h)aol - Scam Manifesto (Merge Records)
Release Date: Out Now
'Scam Manifesto' is the latest release from Irish boundary-pushers M(h)oal and it is both a visual and audio treat. The video is the kind of thing that looks fun to have filmed but unhinged in its final form. Meanwhile, the track itself is a moody, dead-eyed staring indie attack on the senses with slithering guitars, fractured drums and vocals that are both bored and stylish. It feels like the moment when the lights go on in a club and everyone can see each other and themselves laid bare and that is pretty freeing.
