The gentle country twang of Lily Seabird is a thin veil over the heartbroken folk (heartfolken?) at the core of her songwriting. New single 'The Afterglow' plods and shuffles with all the energy of someone who has the strings cut which once connected them to the heart of another. The fragility of the vocals shows the honesty in the emotion while the addition of a lonely violin melody stirs up images of sitting along at a table for two in the window of a small restaurant on Valentine's day.
