Falling Empires dub themselves the Cornish sons of screamo and it's hard to argue with that self assessment on the basis of this latest single. 'Fireflight' has an urgent, impatient and agitated energy to it but that is tempered with the soaring and athemic guitars that aim far beyond just making a noise. Think more Soundgarden and Metallica than Korn or Slipknot with the vocals staying on the leash right until the end when the demon is let loose. Loud and brilliant stuff.
