Talented Irish singer-songwriter Kate Prendergast is back with the first of a slew of singles coming out this year and if 'Exhale' is anything to go by then we're in for a treat. This one is a moody, slow melody with precisely played acoustic notes added lightness to the dark soundscape Prendergast creates. Then comes the voice, a smooth and soothing chanson that lulls you into a state of ease before the song erupts into something altogether more powerful and strident. There's a maturity to the song writing and arrangement that is far beyond Prendergast's young years and that should only be applauded.
