You may recognise Cole Stacey from playing with Midge Ure or being part of India Electric Company but the Devon based artist is perfectly capable of operating on his own, thank you very much, so we need to pay attention to his new solo material too. 'Quiet Is Louder' clatters and shimmers into life before a breathy, soft vocal joins in and the whole piece takes on a ghostly vibe, as though channeling stories from the past into the ears of anyone willing to listen. There are elements of Jake Morley to this that I love but also hints of 80s songwriting that give the track a timeless feel as well.
